Transform your private event into an interactive cocktail party with our expertly crafted mixers designed and served by our bar team.

Select your favorites from our mixer menu and bring the spirits; we provide the freshly made mixers, ice, garnish, and glassware. During your event, our barkeepers guide your guests through the process of incorporating their chosen base spirit to craft the perfect cocktail.

All mixers are made fresh for your special event, and each mixer makes 14 cocktails.

Our Policies

  • Due to the nature of our BYOB permit, our bar staff is not permitted to touch, taste, or pour your alcohol (even though we really like doing those things).

  • Our bar staff at Barlette is TIPS® certified to ensure the responsible consumption of alcohol, and we require all guests to keep their alcohol visible to our bartenders. It is important to note that guests who appear to be intoxicated will not be permitted to serve themselves.

    Drinking games are not allowed, and binge drinking (consuming more than five alcoholic beverages within a 2-3 hour period) is strictly prohibited. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our guests, and we appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a responsible drinking environment.

  • As the end of your event approaches, we implement a 'last Call' policy for alcoholic beverages. This means that 30 minutes before the event's end time, all spirits will be moved to the back bar for safekeeping, ensuring a smooth and responsible conclusion to your evening.

  • All mixers must be pre-ordered from our seasonal mixer menu, and each mixer makes 14 cocktails. Custom mixers are available for an additional fee.

  • If your event runs over the designated time frame, you can extend it in half-hour increments at the standard rate of $250 per hour.

  • A 50% deposit is required to secure your event date. Your reservation is not guaranteed until we receive the deposit. Cancellations made 14 days or more before the event will receive a full refund. Dates cannot be transferred.

  • Gratuity is optional and can be paid via Perfect Venue when settling your remaining balance, in cash after your event, or through Venmo (@drinkatbarlette) at your convenience.

  • A 7% tax on meals will be added to all mixers as required by Massachusetts state law.

  • Hosts are welcome to arrive 30 minutes before the start of their event to set up their bottles and food—just let us know.

  • Hosts can store their alcohol for safekeeping and retrieve it later (for those after-party needs).

  • An automated email will be sent 24 hours after your event. We kindly request that all outstanding balances be settled within 48 hours of your event. If the payment is not received within the time frame, we reserve the right to use the card on file to charge the remaining balance.

DRINK

  • Strangely, no. You’ll have to see it to believe it.

  • It depends! Enhance your evening with Mixer Service and we’ll take care of everything you need to manifest delicious cocktails.

  • For a party of 18, we recommend enhancing your experience with 3-5 mixers and supplementing your evening with beer, wine, bubbles, etc.

  • Depending on the size of your party, 3-5 standard bottles (750 ml) should be more than enough to suite your needs. We recommend bringing a few different varieties of spirits (like gin, whiskey, tequila, etc.) to cover your bases.

    You may also bring beer, wine, and/or bubbles to compliment your cocktail experience—all are welcome.

  • Absolutely! You are welcome to leave your bottles behind and pick them up at your convenience. We’ll keep an eye on them.

 

EAT

  • Absolutely. If you choose to bring outside food into Barlette, we will re-plate it appropriately at no added cost.

  • No—we have all the technology needed to eat and drink comfortably during your time with us.

  • Absolutely! Our friends at Party Favors and Cremeux will happily make your cake and pastry dreams come true. You’re also welcome to bake-and-bring your own.

  • Yes! We have refrigeration for storing items such as cakes, food, etc.

 

BOOK

  • The maximum number of guests we can comfortably accommodate is 20 guests. This limit is to ensure a comfortable atmosphere for guests as well as the safe consumption of alcohol.

  • Barlette is available for privates Monday-Wednesday and Friday-Saturday. Start and end times are flexible.

  • A 50% deposit is required to hold your date, and we cannot guarantee availability until a deposit is received. Cancellations made 14 days or more before your event will receive a full refund. Dates are non-transferable.

  • Cancellations made 7 days or more before your event will receive a full refund. Same-week cancellations will not be refunded, and dates are non-transferable.

  • Gratuity is entirely optional.

  • We do not offer a discounted rate for “off” days. If you’d to reserve our space during the week, please email or text us.

  • Let us know if you’re interested in wine tastings, multi-course wine dinners, or mixology classes. We can make most things happen.

  • Barlette is available for the following:

    Pop-ups (bartenders, chefs, etc.)

    Engagements

ACCESSIBILITY

  • There is metered parking in front of the Arcade building on Harvard Street and plenty of metered parking behind the Arcade in the Centre Street lot (Lot 11, 32 Centre Street in Brookline).

  • The Coolidge Corner train station is a .01-mile walk from Barlette.

  • Barlette is on the first floor of the Coolidge Corner Arcade and is accessible to wheelchair users. There is also an accessible bathroom just down the hallway.
