Open Bar

Bring and pour your preferred base spirits or keep it spirit-free.

What to expect

You bring the spirit, and our barkeeper provides the set-up: freshly made mixers, ice, garnish, and glassware. All reservations include three mixers from our seasonal mixer menu.

What to bring

Base spirits like brandy, gin, rum, tequila, vodka, and whiskey work best with our specially designed cocktail mixers. Occasionally, flavored spirits like maple, caraway seed, pear, etc., can also work well.

We recommend adding 2 oz of alcohol to each mixer, although most can be enjoyed without alcohol or with a non-alcoholic base.

What to eat

You are welcome to bring food from the outside world. It’s not weird.

The fine print

We can’t touch, taste, or pour your alcohol.

According to MA law, “to lawfully transport a partially consumed bottle of alcohol, it must be placed in a locked glove compartment, the trunk, or the area behind the last upright seat if your vehicle does not have a trunk.”

Our bartenders are TIPS® certified.

Parties of 1-7 can make reservations directly through Resy. For larger parties, we offer private buyouts five days a week.

Common Questions

BYOB

  • Honestly, we didn’t try to get a liquor license. Our aim in creating Barlette is to leverage the BYOB concept to craft a unique twist on the traditional cocktail experience—a place where guests can drink what they want, how they want, and at their own pace.

  • Three seasonal cocktail mixers are included with your reservation.

Our bartender provides everything you need to manifest your drinks; you pour, measure, and mix.

You are welome to bring outside foo into Barlette.

  • Correct. Our BYOB status means that we can’t open bottles, pour, or handle bottles of alcohol.

  • Yes! But you must do so lawfully.

Massachusetts state law says, “To lawfully transport a partially consumed bottle of alcohol, it must be placed in a locked glove compartment, the trunk, or the area behind the last upright seat if your vehicle does not have a trunk.”

  • Base spirits like brandy, gin, rum, tequila, vodka, and whiskey tend to pair best with our mixers. Some flavored spirits work occasionally.

  • Each mixer calls for 2 oz of alcohol or can be enjoyed spirit-free or with a spirit-free base.

  • All our mixers can be enjoyed without alcohol.

  • Like any bar or restaurant that serves alcohol, our staff is required to complete a TIPS certification course. TIPS is an awareness training program designed to prevent intoxication, underage drinking, and intoxicated driving and it is our responsibility to make sure guests do not over-serve themselves.

  • We do not charge a bottle or corkage fee (in fact, it’s illegal for us to do so).
